Position Title :         Director Finance and Company Secretary
Location :                  Bengaluru
Reporting Relationships : Global Finance Leader, Industrial and Energy Segment                                           
Direct Reports :         India Finance and Shared Services Finance  teams
Qualification :           CA/CMA with CS
Experience :            15 to 18 years of solid experience ( added   
                  advantage of having worked with US MNC companies)

In his role, The Director, Finance & CS- India, will be responsible for the following set of activities: 

  • Timely and accurate financial statements and reports that are appropriate for the business / organization and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles Both US GAAP and Indian GAAP
  • Financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, Bank Reconciliation and petty cash
  • Treasury Management and Cash management systems / processes for the organization. Manage the cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts in accordance with policy. Negotiate with Bank for lines of credit or other financial services as required and appropriate
  • Develop, implement, and ensure statutory compliances, Internal Accounting policies/Procedures, Internal and External audits, FCPA and SOX compliances
  • Maintain and ensure Indian Company Law and Secretarial procedures and compliances.
  • Conducting Monthly business reviews, MIS and business analytical reports. Work with India Business Leaders as a business partner on business strategies /development /acquisitions.
  • Managing the acquisition of capital assets and ensure that assets are properly recorded, amortized, and disposed of as appropriate
  • Overseeing all payroll functions to ensure that employees are paid in a timely and accurate manner
  • Establishing guidelines for budget and forecast preparation, and prepare the annual budget / periodical forecasts in consultation with all the local / global business leaders/teams
  • Maintaining financial records as per statutory requirements
  • Ensuring proper Risk management processes are in place across all the businesses. Monitoring risk management policies and procedures to ensure that program and organizational risks are minimized
  • Overseeing management of all leases, contracts and other financial commitments
  • Overseeing the Financial Shared services and responsible for its growth and expansion by identifying and providing services to various other countries/global businesses.
  • Ensure, develop and maintain any other process, system, concepts required to develop business functions and strategies
  • Actively participate as a member of the Company Management / Leadership team in India ensure the right local decisions/processes/systems which are in line with local statutory requirements and Global policies.
  • Responsible for the performance of 17 team members aligned to India Finance team/ Shared Services. Coaching and mentoring his team from time to time.
  • Holding the management team accountable for their metrics/financials for the projected headcount, budget- top line, bottom line, cash flow that contribute
  • Conducting monthly Financial reviews with the India and Global leadership
  • Responsible for any future merger and acquisition activities in India as and when needed.
  • The ideal candidate should have the following skills/competencies:
  • He/she should have good knowledge of US GAPP, I GAAP, FCPA and SOX
  • He/she should be highly proficient and have an in depth knowledge and expertise on Indian Income Tax Act, Companies act, GST, FEMA and a fair knowledge on General Laws, Labor laws, Employment Standards and other relevant business laws
  • Proficiency in the use of Computer applications on MS Office,) hands on knowledge on HFM software ERP (preferably Oracle) will be an added advantage.
  • The individual should uphold integrity and ethical behavior/business practices and align himself/herself to the values of the organization
  • The individual should be able to effectively build relationships, establish and maintain positive working relationships to achieve the goals of the organization.

  • Effective organization skills in order to set priorities develop a work schedule, monitor progress towards goals, and track details, data, information and activities.
  • Effective planning in order to determine strategies to move the organization forward, set goals, create and implement actions plans, and evaluate the process and results.
  • Ability to provide solutions by assessing problem situations, do a root cause analysis gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions/provide recommendations. .
  • All in all the candidate should be able to demonstrate the Leadership Expectations i.e. Customer focus, Continuous Improvement, Execution, Innovation, Integrity and Engagement
